RFK Jr. Endorses Former President Trump 70 days out from the U.S. General Election

RFK Jr. Endorses President Trump

Real News:

Last Friday, August 23, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced that he was suspending his independent presidential campaign in 10 key battleground states and endorsing former President Donald Trump. Despite this, he plans to remain on the ballot in other states where his candidacy won't negatively impact trump's chances.

The surprising alliance between Kennedy, a former democrat, and Trump, a Republican, has been dubbed by some as a "unity ticket," symbolizing a bridge between different political factions. Kennedy's decision to drop out in these 10 swing states was based on internal polling that showed he was drawing more votes from trump than from Vice President Kamala Harris, potentially harming trump's chances in those crucial areas.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s decision to suspend his independent presidential campaign in key battleground states and leave the democratic party was motivated by his strong stance on free speech, opposition to the war in Ukraine, and concerns over what he calls "a war on our children." These issues have been central to his platform and have galvanized his supporters.

By endorsing former President Donald Trump, Kennedy is positioning himself for a significant role in a potential Trump administration, should Trump be re-elected. This surprising alliance reflects Kennedy’s shift away from the Democratic party and underscores his dedication to the causes he champions, even as he partners with a former political rival. Kennedy's influence could be substantial, shaping policy in areas that align with his priorities.

However, Kennedy is now facing legal challenges from some of these swing states, which are refusing to remove his name from the ballot. This is ironic because just a few weeks earlier, Kennedy had been in a Pennsylvania court fighting to keep his name on the ballot in that state. This event undoubtedly marks another unexpected turn in this election season.

Biblical Perspective:

It should always excite us when we see unity in politics, especially when it crosses party lines (Romans 14:19). It should encourage us to see people that stand for what they know to be true and not behind partisan ideologies. In the twists and turns of an election season, its necessary to remember that our hope lies in Jesus and not the white house (Romans 12:12 & Psalm 33:20-22).

It’s important to heed the message of health that RFK Jr. presents. We are to treat our bodies as temples built for the Lord (1 Corinthians 3:16-17).

Timeless Take:

Not too often do we see across the aisle unity in politics, but when we do see it, it’s a good reminder that there are people who are actually looking to better the nation instead of stand behind party lines at the expense of their constituents. We can hope that Kennedy and Trump’s initiative to Make America Healthy Again, will do just that. America is suffering from a sickness of secularization and the only thing that can heal our land is Jesus. We should applaud the unity of these two individuals who should have been deemed as enemies by our current status of political affiliations.

We must pray that these two men will use sound judgement when proposing policy and legislation. We must pray that these men will be defenders of life from conception and not falter to the abortion hungry culture at hand. We must pray that these men are protected, since they have both been demonized by many and have histories with assassination attempts.

We must pray that God would continue to heal our land, because we know the only thing that will truly heal us is our repentance and turn back to the Father!
